When should a VAR recommend that a client invest in Fibre Channel instead of using iSCSI?

EXPERT RESPONSE
It is commonly understood that iSCSI SANs makes sense in SMB environments with fairly simple external storage needs, or where an existing Fibre Channel (FC) SAN does not already exist. A Fibre Channel (FC) SAN becomes necessary when nothing else will do the job: For example, if the customer's capacity or performance needs to dictate a storage array that provides more bandwidth via FC than via iSCSI.
